直譯成中文的話是巴哥犬(?)，而牠並不是巴哥犬，這點外國收集者已給出答案，此模型是以一隻名為Cassis的混種犬為參考 (不太確定是什麼品種的混種，只能由牠嘴巴旁的白鬍子推斷這隻狗已經有點年齡了)，對酒略有了解的人可能知道Cassis也是一種黑醋栗酒，常拿來調酒用。

只存活了ㄧ年的2013新品搭檔，長鬍子的那隻因為毛感特殊大陸網民常戲稱其為「硫酸犬」，整體造型上來說卡通感很強，這兩隻小品我個人是相當喜愛，可惜的是黑眼圈狗臉型有點不對稱，大概是造型師當初原本想表現出小狗歪頭的可愛感？結果失敗。

蝦夷狸又稱北海道狸，野生狸對環境適應性較強，除荒漠地帶外，由亞寒帶到亞熱帶地區的平原，丘陵及部分山地，均可生活。多棲息於河各、草原和靠近河流、溪各、湖泊的草原地帶和叢林中。常利用樹漏、石縫或其它洞穴進行穴居，有時也自行營巢穴居。狸屬雜食動物，消化系統的特點功能介於肉食動物和草食動物之間。

It is considered a basal canid species, resembling ancestral forms of the family. 還記得前一陣子到梅花湖旅遊時，在遊湖的船上留意到有一整片草叢都是夜鷺的繁殖圈，夜鷺在台灣是一種很常見的鳥類，經過田地或有水池的地方常見其蹤影。這種鳥類紅色的眼睛給人一種兇惡的感覺，牠頭上那根毛好像稍不小心就會折斷，收藏者需要特別留意，整體給人的感覺非常精緻寫實。

果子狸軀體瘦長，成年個體長45-65厘米，重4.5-8千克。果子狸外形似家貓，顏面狹長，鼻吻前突，頸短面粗，眼睛大而圓，兩耳較小，上層背部兩側有20根黑白相間、富有彈性的鬍鬚，頭部被毛有7塊大小不同黑、白相間的斑塊，故稱花面狸。果子狸四肢粗短，足具5趾，趾端有爪，非常鋒利。趾掌無毛，掌麵皮肉增厚，富有彈性。尾巴粗壯有力，長30—40厘米，約佔體長的2／3，在跳躍、攀登時能起平衡作用。肛門附近有臭腺，遭遇敵人時會釋出異味藉此嚇跑敵人。

ChocoQ的小貓貓中我最喜歡的ㄧ隻，雖然是比較早期的作品了，轉蛋接縫的部份卻處理的很好，這隻東方短毛貓姿態靈巧，轉頭觀看的樣子給人ㄧ種機警的感覺，身上的斑點和長長的眼線塗裝也很細膩，最棒的是平衡感相當精準，無論是站姿或立姿都非常穩固，不易傾倒。

該品種貓起源於泰國，有人認為東方短毛貓是暹羅貓的祖先，暹羅貓是東方短毛貓的變種。這兩個品種的貓在19世紀同時被引進英國，但暹羅貓比較受歡迎，直到1950年短毛貓才被重視。育種專家將暹羅貓與不同顏色的歐洲短毛貓雜交，又得到了巧克力色、白色、藍色的東方短毛貓。1972年CFA認可了該品種，該品種貓目前屬稀有品種。東方短毛貓與暹羅貓一樣性格活潑、外向，喜歡交際。愛好說話、嗓音大，不喜歡孤獨。性成熟早，9個月左右開始發情，而且頻繁鬧貓。比一般的貓高產。由於毛短，皮毛易護理。

The Oriental Shorthair is a breed of domestic cat that is closely related to the Siamese. It maintains the modern Siamese head and body type but appears in a wide range of coat colors and patterns. Like the Siamese, Orientals have almond-shaped eyes, a triangular head shape, large ears, and an elongated, slender, and muscular body. Their personalities are also very similar. Orientals are social, intelligent, and many are rather vocal. They often remain playful into adulthood, with many enjoying playing fetch. Despite their slender appearance, they are athletic and can leap into high places. They prefer to live in pairs or groups and also seek human interaction. 海洋堂日本的動物系列中，我最喜歡的四隻鳥莫過於鴛鴦，銅長尾雉，夜鷺和這款大杜鵑，鳴叫的姿態非常傳神，小小的眼睛和嘴巴塗裝也很精緻。杜鵑可說是ㄧ種懶惰的鳥。大多鳥類都會孵育自己的幼雛，而杜鵑的繁殖習性全然不同。牠們的姿態和猛禽類中的雀鷹非常相似，背面是灰色的，腹部還有許多細的橫斑。所以當牠飛進森林時，許多小鳥以為是雀鷹來了，紛紛逃離，而杜鵑鳥就趁這個時候，把自己的蛋下在其他小型鳥的巢中。一旦幼鳥孵出，牠便會使出潛藏的本能，也就是特殊適應寄生生活的習性，把原本巢中的鳥蛋全部推出鳥巢，獨佔成鳥對牠的撫育。

Papo的貓科系列大多為其精典之作，收集者幾乎沒有不入手的，其中這組母虎與子更是別具一格，和公虎比起來略偏紅的毛色，口中小老虎的五官細節處理也絲毫不含糊，可說是整個系列中我個人最喜歡的一組。

索馬利亞貓一樣，至今我仍然無法確定這款模型是否為正版的re-ment出品，美短的眼睛顏色偏綠黃色，眼框深凹，所以給人一種很兇惡的感覺，實品比Schleich的貓要大上ㄧ倍，噴色也比DM產品圖要更加鮮艷。

美國短毛貓（American Shorthair）是原產美國的一種貓，其祖先為歐洲早期移民帶到北美的貓種，與英國短毛貓和歐洲短毛貓同類。據記載，五月花號上攜帶了數隻貓以幫助除鼠。該品種的貓是在街頭巷尾收集來的貓當中選種、並和進口品種如英國短毛貓、緬甸貓和波斯貓雜交培育而成。美國短毛貓在歐洲很罕見，但在日本頗受好評，在美國國內也較受歡迎。

貘在我眼中可說是目前個人覺得最奇特的哺乳動物之一，身體和腳趾像豬，臉接近原始象。這隻巴西貘不知為何在中文網站上相關評價很少(幾乎是沒有)，素模做的不錯，臉的比例比S家的馬來貘要小，噴色表現普普，腳趾塗裝有點過簡略的帶過，眼睛和臉的輪廓感覺融合在一起 (不是很分明)。

2013超強新作，與張大嘴巴姿態兇惡的尼羅鱷相較之下，個人更偏愛這隻外表怪異的恆河鱷，鱷甲塗裝比尼羅鱷要更深一點(當然立體感也更強)，原本就是屬於冷門物種的恆河鱷可直接列入經典模型。

恆河鱷（學名：Gavialis gangeticus），又名食魚鱷、長吻鱷，是長吻鱷科恆河鱷屬中的唯一品種。恆河鱷身體修長，體色為橄欖綠色。在IUCN紅色名錄上被列為極危物種。恆河鱷是一種淡水鱷魚，主要分佈響印度河、恆河、馬哈拉迪河及布拉瑪普特拉河這4條河當中，以前於孟加拉也有，但現在已於當地絕種。恆河鱷喜歡棲息於水流又急又深，水質較好的河裏。恆河鱷與其他鱷魚一樣，因為身上的皮是製造皮件的原料而遭到捕殺，數量急劇減少。尼泊爾與印度近年來推動保育有關鱷魚的計劃，現已重新建立恆河鱷的族群數目。

The gharial (Gavialis gangeticus), also known as the gavial, and the fish-eating crocodile, is a crocodilian of the family Gavialidae, native to the Indian Subcontinent. The global gharial population is estimated at less than 235 individuals, which are threatened by loss of riverine habitat, depletion of fish resources and use of fishing nets. As the population has declined drastically in the past 70 years, the gharial is listed as Critically Endangered by the IUCN.

The gharial is one of the longest of all living crocodilians, measuring up to 6.25 m (20.5 ft). With 110 sharp interdigitated teeth in its long thin snout it is well adapted to catching fish, its main diet. The male has a distinctive boss at the end of the snout, which resembles an earthenware pot known as ghara. Gharials once inhabited all the major river systems of the Indian Subcontinent, from the Irrawaddy River in the east to the Indus River in the west. Their distribution is now limited to only 2% of their former range. They inhabit foremost flowing rivers with high sand banks that they use for basking and building nests. 和新版公羊一樣是2013新品，和羊老公比起來母羊相對樸素，毛色層次也比較淡。

Schliech is aways good at making livestock figures, what a pity many collectors only focus on their wild animals series, the truth is: those livestocks never go out of style. This 2013 new ram is just awesome, every detail of it is engraved on my heart (hoof, hairs and horns....), surely this represents great progress.

Although the name "sheep" applies to many species in the genus Ovis, in everyday usage it almost always refers to Ovis aries. Numbering a little over one billion, domestic sheep are also the most numerous species of sheep. A male sheep is called a ram and a female sheep is called a ewe.

Sheep are most likely descended from the wild mouflon of Europe and Asia. 其實至今我仍然無法確定這款模型是否為正版的re-ment出品(汗)，認識我的人都知道本人家就養了一隻貓，當初入手這組是因為喜歡索馬利亞貓與美國短毛貓的造型塗裝，實品比Schleich的貓要大上ㄧ倍，噴色也比DM產品圖要更加鮮艷。

索馬利亞貓，是一種長毛貓，為阿比西尼亞貓的近親品種。起源於1967年，是由突變的長毛阿比西尼亞貓作為親貓，有計劃培育出的品種。其身長略大於阿比西尼亞貓，尾巴厚實。性格好動聰明，叫聲悅耳，但畏寒。

索馬利亞貓就是長毛的阿比西尼亞貓，這個品種是1950年代無意間從阿比西尼亞貓的培育中，發現有幾隻小貓生下來就有瓶狀刷般的尾巴與蓬鬆的毛髮。索馬利亞貓與阿比西尼亞貓的個性相仿；主動、聰明、愛玩、好奇心重，甚至外觀上也有些相似。索馬利亞貓有著顯明毛髮濃密的尾巴，配合著偏紅色係的毛髮，使得他們在同好圈中得到「狐貓」的稱呼。除了蓬鬆的大尾巴之外，索馬利亞貓的外觀特徵上，在背脊上、大耳朵上、還有胸口，以及腿部後方以及足部，都佈滿黑色的條紋也是的他們在遠觀上幾乎與狐狸無二。

The first Somali cats appeared in the litters of Abyssinians as long-haired kittens. In the 1940s a British breeder named Janet Robertson exported some Abyssinian kittens to Australia, New Zealand and North America. Descendants of these cats occasionally produced kittens with long or fuzzy coats. In 1963, Mary Mailing, a breeder from Canada, entered one into a local pet show. Ken McGill, the show's judge, asked for one for breeding purposes.

An American Abyssinian breeder Evelyn Mague, also received longhairs from her cats, which she named "Somalis". Don Richings, another Canadian breeder, used kittens from McGill, and began to work with Mague. 相較於成獸個人更喜歡這隻可愛的幼仔，身上的白色條紋塗裝仔細，圓圓小小的眼睛看起來給人無辜感，當初買牠是為了和S家的馬來貘與M家的巴西貘做搭配。

中美貘（學名Tapirus bairdii），產於中美洲，是拉丁美洲的三種貘之一。生活在中美墨西哥東南部、貝里斯、瓜地馬拉、宏都拉斯、哥斯大黎加、尼加拉瓜和巴拿馬等國的茂密叢林中。甚至可能呆在海拔3,350米的高地。

中美貘的臉部、喉部有一塊乳白色印記，面頰上則各有一個暗點。身體的其他部分則為深褐色或灰褐色。是三種美洲貘中體型最大的，也是墨西哥到南美地區所見的最大陸生哺乳動物。一般居住在水的附近，尤其喜歡游泳和涉水。中美貘是獨居動物，在繁殖季節也會聚集在一起。

The tapir is the largest land mammal in Central America.Baird's tapir has a distinctive cream-colored marking on its face and throat and a dark spot on each cheek, behind and below the eye. The rest of its hair is dark brown or grayish-brown. This tapir is the largest of the three American species and the largest native land mammal in both Central and South America.

Baird's tapir may be active at all hours, but is primarily nocturnal. It forages for leaves and fallen fruit, using well-worn tapir paths which zig-zag through the thick undergrowth of the forest. The animal usually stays close to water and enjoys swimming and wading – on especially hot days, individuals will rest in a watering hole for hours with only their heads above water. It generally leads a solitary life, though feeding groups are not uncommon and individuals, especially those of different ages (young with their mothers, juveniles with adults) are often observed together. The animals communicate with one another through shrill whistles and squeaks. Adults can be potentially dangerous to humans and should not be approached if spotted in the wild. 這匹馬是我入手的第一匹C家馬，之前一直遲遲沒買是因此考慮到和其他馬搭配的比例，實品收到後非常喜歡，C家的馬雖然不如S家在噴色的表現來的層次分明，她飄逸的馬毛與靈活動態也算別具特色，夏爾馬模完整呈現出這種馬中"溫柔巨人"的特色 (邁步姿態沉穩，立體感分明的肌肉)。拿在手上更是份量十足，真心越看越喜歡。

世界上最高貴的挽用馬，也是世界上力量最大體型最大的馬。這種馬可以拉動5噸的重物，現在英國的一些啤酒場依然讓它們工作。

The Shire horse is a breed of draught horse or draft horse. The breed comes in many colours, including black, bay and grey. They are a tall breed, with mares standing 16 hands and over and stallions standing 17 hands and over. The breed has an enormous capacity for weight pulling, and Shires have held the world records for both largest overall horse and tallest horse at various times. Throughout its history, the breed has been popular for pulling brewery wagons delivering ale to customers. This practice continues today, with the breed also being used for forestry, leisure and promotional pursuits.

In 1878, the British organization now known as the Shire Horse Society was created, with the American Shire Horse Association beginning in 1885. 2014時到澎湖旅遊買的當地紀念品，當初多帶一組送給朋友當伴手禮，2018再次重返澎湖時這家店已經不在了，貓頭鷹是ㄧ種相當討喜的動物，在日本，貓頭鷹的發音「ふくろう」（Fukurou）音同「不苦勞」、「福郎」，引申出不辛苦、招福之意。在原住民信仰中，牠們是送子鳥，也是靈鳥，為吉祥的象徵。市面上經常可以看見以其造型做為設計的藝術品或擺飾，這兩隻別緻又可愛的黑色小貓鷹是用澎湖當地的玄武石雕刻而成，比起華麗又閃閃動人的金銀寶石，色澤溫潤貼近自然的礦物更深得我心。

但是呢！這組貓頭鷹有做過染色處理，所以我也不敢確定它是否為真的玄武岩，買回家的一年多後，某次將它放在手上把玩時，發現上面有微許的白色痕跡，用清潔劑也洗不掉.......

最近的生活

最近本人更新文章的速度比以往要來的慢許多，不是因為產品介紹全都已經完結了(或是我懶的更新)，而是這2個月以來生活圈都忙著旅遊四處啪啪走與工作等雜事。畢竟，蒐集動物模型和另外幾樣嗜好已經被自己視為終身興趣，除非未來有什麼特別原因，不然我會一直持續這樣的熱情敗家下去:)。其他還沒上線的動物們還需要抽空幫牠們拍照。

歐洲的松鼠和台灣的松鼠外表真是大不相同，這隻小東西粉紅色的肉墊和鼻頭更險顯示出牠的可愛之處，雖然體型小，但在塗裝方面絲毫不含糊，層次感很分明。

松鼠前後肢間無皮翼，四肢強健，趾有銳爪，爪端呈鉤狀，雌性個體比雄性個體稍重一些。花鼠屬與松鼠屬其臉頰內側有頰囊的構造，能儲存很多食物。尾毛密長而且蓬鬆，四肢及前後足均較長，但前肢比後肢短。耳殼發達，前折時可達眼，冬季耳端具一撮黑色長毛束。松鼠個體毛色差異較大，為青灰色、灰色、褐灰色、深灰色和黑褐色等等。隨著地區的差異，毛色也有變化，如遼寧松鼠的顏色偏灰，而中國南方的松鼠顏色則較黑。此外，毛色還受季節的影響，冬毛灰或灰褐色，夏毛黑或黑褐色。松鼠一般以草食性為主，食物主要是種子和果仁，也會吃鳥蛋、水果如櫻桃等。部分物種會食昆蟲，其中一些熱帶物種更會為捕食昆蟲而進行遷徙，甚至叼走山雀雛鳥。

雖然是小品系列之一但塗裝的處理也絲毫不大意，毛的感覺我相當喜歡，相對於其他家的兔子特別顯眼。

這隻大傢伙拍得不夠好，無法完整呈現出牠的風采，Mojö的白犀牛可說是旗下產品的精品之一，噴色表現樸實，整體給人一種很安靜的感覺。

白犀（學名Ceratotherium simum），又名白犀牛、方吻犀，是現存五種犀牛中個頭最大的，體形僅次於大象，共有兩個亞種。其中北方亞種主要分布於非洲東部和中部的烏干達和尼羅河上游，南方亞種主要分布於南非，約有20,170頭野生白犀，是數量最多的一種犀牛。白犀的名稱由來沒有公論。事實上白犀的身體顏色與黑犀沒有很大區別，其區別主要在於比較大的體型，和寬大的嘴唇。一個常見的說法是白犀牛的白字是來自於荷蘭語的「wijd」，意思是「寬」，最早移民非洲南部的歐洲殖民者荷蘭人用寬嘴唇這個特徵來和尖嘴唇的黑犀牛區分，之後說英語的人將「wijd」誤譯為「white」，即「白」，使得這個名字誤導世人。事實上荷蘭語中，也是用「黑」、「白」來命名這兩種犀牛，而且即使早期荷蘭語文獻中也從來沒有「寬」、「窄」犀牛這樣的提法。

White rhinoceroses are found in grassland and savannah habitat. Herbivore grazers that eat grass, preferring the shortest grains, the white rhinoceros is one of the largest pure grazers. It drinks twice a day if water is available, but if conditions are dry it can live four or five days without water. It spends about half of the day eating, one third resting, and the rest of the day doing various other things. White rhinoceroses, like all species of rhinoceros, love wallowing in mudholes to cool down. White rhinoceroses produce sounds which include a panting contact call, grunts and snorts during courtship, squeals of distress, and deep bellows or growls when threatened. Threat displays (in males mostly) include wiping its horn on the ground and a head-low posture with ears back, combined with snarl threats and shrieking if attacked. Papo的爬蟲類生物系列延續了該廠商在恐龍方面一貫的製作水準，拿在手上把玩相當有份量感，立體感十足的鱷魚皮甲與兇光外露的小眼睛皆為亮點，可惜的是口腔塗裝層次稍嫌單薄(沒有做出舌頭)，鱗片的塗裝也有提升空間。

尼羅鱷（學名Crocodylus niloticus）是一種大型鱷魚，為全數23種鱷魚當中被人類研究最多的一種。尼羅鱷長4-5米，大鱷可達8米；吻闊略呈長三角形，上頜每側有牙齒16-19枚，下頜每側14-15枚；軀幹背面有堅固的厚鱗甲6-8縱列；四肢的外側有鋸齒緣，趾間有蹼。體色背面為暗橄欖褐色，腹面淡黃色，幼體顏色較淡，有黑色的斑點及網狀花紋。其下顎第四齒由上顎的V字形凹陷中向外面突出。尼羅鱷非常強壯，尾巴強而有力，有助於游泳。成年尼羅鱷的體重可以重達一噸。

尼羅鱷出現在非洲以及馬達加斯加島，主要棲身於河流及湖泊之中。自公元9世紀開始，牠們已經成為人類的獵殺對象，因為牠們的皮於當時非常名貴。目前在尼羅河一帶，尼羅鱷已經絕跡。

They are generalists, taking a variety of prey. Their diet consists mostly of different species of fish, reptiles, birds and mammals. The Nile crocodile is an ambush predator and can wait for hours, days and even weeks for the suitable moment to attack. They are quite agile predators and wait for the opportunity for the prey item to come close within the range of attack. Even swift prey are not immune to attack. Like other crocodiles, Nile crocodiles have an extremely powerful bite that is unique amongst all animals and sharp conical teeth that sink into flesh allowing for a grip that is almost impossible to loosen. They can apply high levels of force for extended periods of time, a great advantage for holding down large prey underwater to drown.

Nile crocodiles are very social crocodiles. They share basking spots and large food sources such as schools of fish and big carcasses. There is a strict hierarchy, that is determined by size. Large, old males are at the top of this hierarchy and have primary access to food and best basking spots. Crocodiles know their place in the hierarchical order and rarely act against it, but when they do, the results are very bloody and sometimes even fatal. Like other reptiles, Nile crocodiles lay eggs to reproduce, which are guarded by the female. The hatchlings are also protected for a period of time, but hunt by themselves and are not fed by the parents. The Nile crocodile is one of the most dangerous species of crocodile and is responsible for hundreds of deaths of humans every year. It is a rather common species of crocodile and is not endangered.

灰熊（學名：Ursus arctos horribilis）為棕熊亞種，分布於北美洲西部，是北美最常見的棕熊。灰熊的祖先被認為是10萬年前從西伯利亞跨過白令海峽來到阿拉斯加的烏蘇里棕熊。灰熊通常獨居生活，但是在沿海地區，灰熊在鮭魚產卵的季節會聚集在溪流、河流、湖泊和池塘周圍。雌性灰熊每隔一年生產1至4頭幼崽，通常為2頭，每頭幼崽重量僅為500克。母熊嚴密保護其幼崽，在認為自己或幼崽受到威脅時，便會進攻。

C家的另一款爆冷門動物，紅河豬可算是豬類中毛色最鮮豔的一種，這頭豬臉部長滿凹凸不平的肉瘤，尖長的耳朵與背部的鬃毛也有做出來，可謂小品佳作。

紅河豬分佈於非洲、非洲野豬屬，分佈在非洲大陸的撒哈拉沙漠以南地區和馬達加斯加島林地及潮濕草原（有13個亞種）；體長100-150釐米，尾長30-40釐米，體重50-130公斤。毛色磚紅至黑灰色。頭頂至脊背有一條淺色毛，耳尖長，端部亦有毛。最典型特徵為雄性的眼下有疣，面部有鬢，鬢毛花白。懷孕時間約127天，乳頭3對。壽命10-15年。

紅河豬，在高草和葦叢中掘洞為巢，晝伏夜出，以家族小群活動，主食植物根塊、漿果、莖葉、野果。善游泳，性兇猛。歲尾年初為產仔季節，每產5-6仔。紅河豬分佈於非洲中部、西部廣大地區，主要是在雨林地區，體色更接近於紅色，也叫西非藪豬。

鼎鼎大名三大鯨之二，目前網路價格將近4000元台幣，也不知未來會不會再度回到市場，這頭鯨魚經由代購之手，從海外購物網飄洋過海來到家中，抹香鯨身體中後段皮膚表面的摺皺忠實呈現，這點與其他鯨類平滑緊實的皮膚不同，兩個鼻孔位置也正確刻畫到位。和三大鯨忠的灰鯨相較之下可謂各有千秋

除了體型稍偏大外，這款模型可算是各家同種物種中"素模"最貼近真實斑鬣狗的一款，可惜的是整體顏色表現突兀，特別是嘴皮和鮮艷的口腔，如換成帶灰的粉紅膚色應該會更合適，要是原廠能調整比例與配色，肯定給牠滿分。收到後左看右看顏色怎麼喬都不順眼，只好重新塗裝啦～

The species is however experiencing declines outside of protected areas due to habitat loss and poaching. 鼎鼎大名三大鯨之一，目前網路價格炒的正火熱，也不知未來會不會再度回到市場，S社的諸多海洋生物 (鯨魚鯊魚等) 其實並非全然出自於S旗下，某些物種是與Maia & Borges公司合作的結晶，該廠商旗下的海洋生物雖塗裝不如S社來的精緻，但其素模可說非常漂亮 (這邊有一些網友找到的產品圖片)，越簡單的動物真是越難刻劃呀！幸運的是當初下訂單時，這隻灰鯨正好是廠商手中最後一隻，鯨身佈滿大大小小的坑洞，看起來非常滄桑。

灰鯨（Eschrichtius robustus），現又稱東太平洋灰鯨，其他稱呼有加州灰鯨、魔鬼魚、掘貝者和弱鯨，是一種每年來往攝食區和繁殖區的鯨。為灰鯨科灰鯨屬的動物。在中國大陸，分布於黃海、東海等海域，多棲息於熱帶及暖溫帶海域。該物種的模式產地在瑞典。牠們約有16 米長，36公頓重，一般可活到50–60歲。灰鯨曾一度被稱為「魔鬼魚」，因為當牠們被追獵時會奮力搏鬥。灰鯨是灰鯨屬中唯一的物種，亦是灰鯨科中唯一的物種。這種動物是最古老的物種之一，在地球上已有約3000萬年的歷史。在很久之前牠們一度是巨牙鯊的捕食對象（巨牙鯊現已滅絕）。

The gray whale (Eschrichtius robustus) is a baleen whale that migrates between feeding and breeding grounds yearly. It reaches a length of 14.9 meters (49 ft), a weight of 36 tonnes (40 short tons), and lives between 55 and 70 years. The common name of the whale comes from the gray patches and white mottling on its dark skin. Gray whales were once called devil fish because of their fighting behavior when hunted. The gray whale is the sole living species in the genus Eschrichtius, which in turn is the sole living genus in the family Eschrichtiidae. This mammal descended from filter-feeding whales that developed at the beginning of the Oligocene, over 30 million years ago.

The gray whale is distributed in an eastern North Pacific (North American) population and a critically endangered western North Pacific (Asian) population. 對馬山貓 (資料來自於維基百科)
對馬山貓（Prionailurus bengalensis euptailurus）只生存在對馬海峽的對馬島上，數量已經很少，在1997年估計只有70-90隻。對馬山貓最初被認為是另一個種，後來被歸為豹貓的亞種，現在認為是中國東北地區豹貓的一個亞種。

They are about the same size as domestic cats; however, the differences are that Tsushima cats have stripes on the middle of their forehead and have rounded ears with white spots on the back. They were designated as a national natural treasure in 1971. Tsushima cats are also listed as endangered species.

During the 1960~1963 investigation, there were 250~300 Tsushima cats living in Tsushima. However, the number has decreased to 80~100 today. Such reasons are: decrease in habitat availability, traffic accidents, and infectious diseases from domestic cats.
